Privacy Policy

Mementoir is built by Lazily Inspired ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. What we collect

Mementoir is designed to keep your data on your device. Here is what we access and why:

• Photos and media. You choose which photos to import. Photos are processed on your device to build journal pages. We do not upload your photos to our servers.
• Photo metadata. Mementoir reads EXIF data (dates, locations) from your photos to organize journal entries. This data stays on your device.
• Journal content. Captions, titles, annotations, and layout data you create are stored locally on your device.
• Optional cloud features. If you use features that generate captions or narration, limited photo data may be sent to third-party services (such as Google Gemini) for processing. These requests are transient and not stored by us. See section 4 for details.

2. What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or account information (there are no accounts).
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. On-device processing

Layout composition, photo arrangement, and most image processing happen entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Your journals are stored in your device's local storage and are not transmitted to any server unless you explicitly choose to export or share them.

4. Third-party services

When you use optional smart features (such as auto-generated captions or narration), Mementoir may send photo data to third-party services for processing. These services process data according to their own privacy policies:

• Google Gemini API — used for caption and narration generation. Data sent to Google is processed under Google's API terms and is not used to train their models.

You can use Mementoir without these features. If you choose not to use smart suggestions, no data leaves your device.

5. Data storage and security

Your journals and photos are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. If you use iCloud backup, your device backup may include Mementoir data according to your iCloud settings. We do not operate servers that store your content.

6. Exports and sharing

When you export a PDF or share journal pages, the exported content goes where you send it — email, Messages, Files, or another app. Once shared, that content is governed by the recipient's or platform's privacy practices, not ours.

7. Children's privacy

Mementoir is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
